Is it Hyprocritical to replace tobaco advertising with gambling advertising?

   Yes, I agree. In the states, we cut cigarette advertising but continued with alcohol and now gambling ads are at an all time high. All of which leads to illness, family and financial issues and death. I think that alot of individuals look towards some moral reason for staying away from these habits, but the government is more concerned with the revenue received from them.

   Yes, 0f course it’s hypocritical, like so many things this government does; just imagine, if tobacco were totally banned, how much tax they would need to levy elsewhere; same goes for gambling, drinking etc.

   It is an utterly cynical way of raising revenue and seems on the face of it somewhat inconsistent with the measures which are being taken to control money laundering, despite the guidelines which have been introduced to regulate gambling.
